Frameshift supports the Undiagnosed Diseases hackathon at the Mayo Clinic

At Frameshift, our mission has always been to help users translate genomic data into actionable medical insights. Recently, we had the incredible privilege of again supporting an Undiagnosed Hackathon sponsored by the Wilhelm Foundation, this time hosted by the Mayo Clinic.

Over the course of 2 days, our Mosaic platform served as the central project management and analysis platform for world-class genetics experts from around the world. This wasn’t just a technical exercise; it was a global collaborative effort to give families with undiagnosed diseases clarity and understanding.

By the Numbers
Global Collaboration: 122 clinicians, geneticists, bioinformaticians, and researchers from 28 different countries working together to help undiagnosed families.

Rapid Discovery: In just 2 days, the group analyzed multiomic data from 29 participants, identifying definitive answers for 6 participants and promising candidates for 9 more.

Mosaic in Action
Mosaic is specifically built to empower experts from diverse training backgrounds to perform meaningful genomic analyses. Whether the user was a geneticist, genetic counselor, or data scientist, they had the tools to collaborate seamlessly and share their domain-specific expertise with the team. It was inspiring to see teams use Mosaic not just for deep data dives, but as a central hub for sharing their discoveries.

Supporting the Wilhelm Foundation has been a highlight for our team. Seeing Mosaic empower such a diverse group of experts to solve challenging medical mysteries reminds us why we do what we do. We are honored to play a part in accelerating diagnoses and bringing hope to those living with unexplained conditions.
